Paso Robles

Paso Robles

Warm reds, west-side hills

What should I drink from here?
Paso Robles oaks and vines
Paso Robles oaks and vines

A Central Coast valley for Rhône grapes, Cabernet, and Zinfandel. The west side is the hills. The heat is the fact.

  • blackberry
  • herbs
  • pepper
  • dust
  • dark cherry

Adelaida and the Willow Creek hills are cooler than the highway strip. Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre do well here. Cabernet and Zinfandel are the other argument.

Two tasting rooms is a day. August afternoons are for shade. Spit if you are driving back to the coast.
