Eight thousand years in qvevri

The probable cradle of wine. Eight thousand vintages, 500+ indigenous grapes, and buried clay amphorae that never went out of fashion.

Qvevri wines — white grapes on skins in buried clay — are the original orange wines. Saperavi is the red flagship; Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, and Kisi the whites. Kakheti is the engine; Imereti, Kartli, and Racha have their own dialects.
Not every qvevri wine is clean or great. The ones that are taste like a different century in the best way.
Walnut sauces, grilled lamb, khachapuri, and herbs.
