Old vines, new Cape
A dry-farmed, bush-vine region north of Cape Town that rewired South African wine: Chenin, Syrah, and Mediterranean blends with a whole-cluster, low-oak accent.

The Swartland Independent producers made a style: less new oak, more skin, more place. Old Chenin and Grenache on granite and schist can rival the Loire and the Rhône at a fraction of the rent.
It is still a working agricultural district. The wines taste like it.
