Rudolf Steiner's agricultural philosophy applied to vines: compost preparations, lunar planting calendars, and a farm as a closed organism. Controversial, and full of excellent growers.
Biodynamic estates are organic at minimum. The extra rituals — burying a cow horn of manure, spraying teas — have thin laboratory evidence and loud anecdotal loyalty. Demeter and Biodyvin certify. Many great domaines practice it quietly.
It is not a tasting note. A biodynamic wine can be conventional in style or wildly natural. Taste the bottle.
Use the word for the farming. Do not use it as a halo.
